Chelsea Flower Show Tour 2015
May 19th - 28th, 2015

May 25th This morning after breakfast we will hop into local taxis to be taken to Anne Hathaway’s Cottage in Stratford Upon Avon..

Love and Marriage …. Discover where the young William Shakespeare courted his future bride Anne Hathaway at her picturesque family home. Anne Hathaway's Cottage is a shining example of a ‘chocolate box’ cottage complete with thatched roof with stunning grounds and gardens, that overflow with fragrant blooms and traditional shrubs. The vista of the house and garden has been described as the most romantic view in England. Wander through stunning cottage gardens with traditional Tudor planting, beautiful blooms, shrubs and traditional herbs and vegetables. Take time to listen to a reading of one of the dramatist's popular sonnets in the willow arbour and look out for the giant willow sculptures. Then discover the newest addition, Miss Willmott's Garden named after the Edwardian horticulturist who designed the cottage gardens in the 19th-century. Explore the specially created conservation borders (spring and summer) that have been carefully designed to attract butterflies. Then escape among the trees for a woodland walk, while listening to a unique musical composition inspired by Shakespeare. Don't miss the heart-shaped lavender maze as well as the Shakespeare Arboretum and Sculpture trail with many trees, shrubs and roses all featured in Shakespeare's writings. You can also discover what flowers meant during the Elizabethan period.
